Moot on Pak people’s history concludes

A number of papers by national and international participants were presented on the third day of 6th International THAAP conference “People’s History of Pakistan” on Sunday.
According to a press release, the first paper of the day “The Isolated Communities of South Asia: An Outcome of the Political Mapping from Indian Subcontinent” was presented by Ms Tanzia Islam, Ms Sahjabin Kabir and Ms Mehreen Mustafa.
The second paper “Lahore’s Cityscapes: Reimagining the Urban. Past and Present Image abilities of the City” was presented by Helena Cermeño Mediavilla while Prof Dr Noman Ahmed third paper of session “The Story of Contestation of Space in Karachi in the Backdrop of Safety and Security Issues”. This session was chaired by Prof Irshad Burney.
Prof Pran Neville, an eminent Indian writer, chaired the next session in which the first paper of the day “Inner Structure of the Ismaili Community” was presented by Dr Amin Muhammad Valliani. The next paper was “Amrita Sher-Gill’s Paintings: A Cultural Evaluation” by Ms Mandakini Sharma (Read by Ms Sana Mubeen). The last paper of this session was presented by Qaisar Abbas and Ghiasuddin Pir titled “History of the Invisible”.
The last session of the day was chaired by Prof Dr Nauman Ahmed in which Husain Abdul Rehman Qazi presented his paper “Voyage to Waziristan (FATA)”, Mujahid Torwali and Aftab Ahmad “Peoples’ Stories during the Rule of Last Wali of Swat (1949—1969)”, Prof David Cotterrell “Empathy and Risk” and Prof Dr Jürgen Wasim Frembgen and Till Passow’s “Knotted Images: Lest we forget, Rugs from the war in Afghanistan”.
