18 facilitators of terrorists held in Khyber Agency

BARA: The security forces on Saturday arrested 18 facilitators of terrorists and recovered foreign currency and gold from their possession. According to details, the Frontier Corps (FC) personnel conducted an operation on a tip off in Landikotal and adjoining areas and arrested 18 financiers and supporters of terrorists. At least three kilograms of stolen gold, 1,500 grams silver, Pakistani currency, US dollars, riyals and dirhams were also recovered from the suspects. The action was taken under the National Action Plan (NAP) to counter terrorism. A huge cache of weapons was also recovered during search. An official, wanting anonymity said that value of foreign currency was Rs65 million. They had been financing terror activities in Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the official said. Sources said the money was also used to buy weapons from Afghanistan. The arrested suspects have been taken to an undisclosed location for investigation.
