The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) is launching two double-decker buses for a guided tour of Lahore City under its new tourist initiative called ‘Sightseeing Lahore” immediately after Ashura.
This was revealed by the TDCP spokesman to The News on the occasion of receiving the two double decker buses in Lahore by the TDCP Vice-Chairman Imran Goraya and its Managing Director Ahmer Malik on Friday. The two buses, which have been imported from China at the cost of US $188,000, will be plying on the city roads in the last week of October 2015 for sightseeing purpose.
The spokesman said that the buses which have the seating capacity of 48 persons on the upper and 18 persons on the lower deck each, are likely to run along the metro bus service route and would be taking the enthusiastic tourists around the city while stopping at the tourist and historical places of the Lahore city. He said the main terminals of these buses will be, one at Gaddafi Stadium, while the other will be situated at the Food Street on Lahore Fort Road. The spokesman revealed that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had also approved the purchase of three more buses for this project, which would arrive here very soon. He revealed that after its inauguration in Lahore City, the same project would be expanded to other cities of Punjab province in near future.
