Pesco BoD approves bifurcation of Oghi subdivision
PESHAWAR: The Board of Directors (BoD) of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco)on Monday approved the bifurcation of Oghi subdivision to facilitate the consumers.The approval was accorded at the 101st meeting of the BoD held here at Wapda House with the board Chairman Malik Muhammad Asad Khan in the chair.

PESHAWAR: The Board of Directors (BoD) of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco)on Monday approved the bifurcation of Oghi subdivision to facilitate the consumers.
The approval was accorded at the 101st meeting of the BoD held here at Wapda House with the board Chairman Malik Muhammad Asad Khan in the chair. Pesco new Secretary Yasir Naseem presented minutes of the 100th BoD meeting which were approved after detailed discussion, said a communiqué.
It said that the Oghi subdivision would be bifurcated into subdivisions - Oghi & Darband subdivisions - on administration grounds so that to facilitate the consumers. The project would be completed at a cost of Rs26.7 million.
The BoD also gave approval to the purchase of ambulance for Wapda Hospital Peshawar, costing Rs4.5 million.
Approval was also accorded for re-designation of the post of stenographer grade-1 (BPS-16) as assistant private secretary.
A number of other managerial and administrative matters on the agenda were also approved.
Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil gave a comprehensive presentation to the board on the efforts to bring the entity out of losses and increase recovery.
The BoD discussed loadshedding schedule of Pesco in the context of current energy crisis.
Chairman BoD said that Pesco must achieve the set targets through good governance. BoD ordered to enhance recovery and reduce line as per the set targets for the current year.
Board members including Chief Executive of Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil, Jehanzeb Khan, Alam Zeb, Syed Musawar Shah, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Qamar Zaman, Dr Amjad Khattak, General Manager Finance Anwarul Haq Yousafzai, General Manager Technical Fida Ahmad Khan, General Manager Niaz Khan, Chief Engineer Commercial PMU Amjad Khan, Chief Engineer Operation Muhammad Iqbal Marwat, Company Secretary Yasir Naseem, Director General HR Muhammad Saleem Jahangir, Director General Admin & Services Khurshid Ahmad Orakzai and Director General PR Shaukat Afzal attended the meeting.
