The city district government has decided to issue notices to 164 private schools of the provincial metropolis for not decreasing fee despite the recent amendment to the 1984 Ordinance of Private Educational Institutions.
The first meeting of the district registering authority chaired by Lahore DCO was held here on Monday which decided to issue notices to private schools for not obeying the ordinance.
Through these notices the private schools would be given seven days time to submit replies. It was decided that the schools not following the ordinance despite notices would be dealt strictly. The schools would be issued notices from Tuesday (today).
PU examinations: Punjab University Examinations Department has notified that B.Com Part-I & Part-II 2nd annual examinations 2015 will commence from 25-11-15 and 26-11-2015 respectively, according to a press release issued here on Monday.
date sheet: Punjab University Examinations Department has issued written & practical date sheet of BSc Medical Laboratory Technology Course (MLT) (Hons) (4 year programme) Part-I second annual examination 2014. Detailed date sheets are also available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk, according to a press release issued here on Monday.
MoU: Punjab University and Arizona State University (ASU), USA, Monday signed an MoU to promote academic exchange, faculty exchange and cooperation in teaching and research between the both universities.
A ceremony was held in Committee Room of Vice Chancellor's Office. PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran, ASU Religious Studies Assistant Professor Dr Chad Haines, ASU Cronkite School of Journalism Director Global Programs Dr B William Silcock, Associate Dean Kristin Gilber, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Dean Faculty of Behavioral & Social Sciences Prof Dr Zakria Zakar, Dr Rubina Zakir, Director External Linkages Dr Maria Maldonado, In-charge Institute of Communication Studies Dr Noshina Saleem and Shabbir Sarwar were present on the occasion.
The participants discussed various areas of mutual interest and stressed the need to enhance academic relations between the two institutions. The exchange program is for Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) and Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) of Punjab University. Later, the visiting delegation has separate meeting with faculty of PU ICS and ISCS.
convocation: The full dress rehearsal of Punjab University's 123rd convocation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 8am in Faisal auditorium in which student's participation is necessary.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, the invitation cards for top five students have been sent in this regard however the students who have not received the invitation cards may contact the Punjab University examination department. The position holders students of undergraduates session 2009-13, M.A/MSc & /MS/M. Phil session 2011-13 will be bestowed gold medals and degrees and the degrees will also be awarded to those PhD scholars who had completed their degrees in the year of 2014. The 123rd convocation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in Faisal auditorium.
