Arrangements for LG polls phase-III reviewed

BAHAWALPUR: A meeting chaired by the District Coordination Officer in his office was held on Friday to review arrangements for local government polls phase-III in Bahawalpur district.
DCO Imran Sikandar Baloch said all candidates would be facilitated for impartial polling. The meeting was also attended by deputy election commissioner Bahawalpur region Mian Muhammad Shahid and district returning officer Haroon Khan and others. The participants were informed that all appeals against returning officers would be heard by the Additional Session Judges and their decisions would be announced on October 30.
CM LAUDED: Prof Dr Qaisar Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, thanked Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for announcing electronic arms for the varsity’s special student of M Phil Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Nizami. Nizami had lost his arms in an accident twelve years ago.
The provision of the electronic arms was announced by the Chief Minister the other day. Prof Mushtaq said the government of Punjab is making efforts for special persons. He said a special information centre in this regard has been established in Abbasia Campus, where special students’ issues are addressed. The VC lauded courage of Nizami. He also praised efforts of the DCO for Nizami.
