OKARA: Returning Officer Javed Iqbal Khattak has issued the polling scheme for NA-144 by-poll scheduled to be held on October 11.
There are total 316,370 voters, including 173,951 male. There are 210 polling stations, including 78 for men, 77 for women and 55 joint polling stations. Of them, 25 polling stations have been declared sensitive. Total nine candidates are contesting the by-poll. They include Ali Arif of PML-N, Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna of PTI, Ch Sajjadul Hassan of PPP, Ali Raza of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik, Ch Riazul Haq (independent) and Mehr Abdul Sattar (independent). Meanwhile, DCO Qaisar Saleem, DPO Muhammad Faisal Rana and TMA Administrator Farid Ahmad Sheikh visited the sensitive polling stations. The DPO said that a control room had been established to monitor the by-poll.
