App to promote Urdu literature launched
LAHORE: The largest virtual platform of Urdu literature has launched its android app with the objective of promoting and disseminating Urdu literature to its global readership from over 160 countries across the globe.
According to communiqué released by the platform, the resource provides the works of the highest number of poets compared to any other site in this genre. The foundation is also running a free-of-cost website, which is the largest online repository of Urdu poetry anywhere with over 40,000 Ghazals and Nazms of over 4,500 poets of over the last three centuries.
The launch of upgraded android app is another initiative taken in this regard. A host of new features, shayari videos, newly added prose section and other enriching poetry contents are integrated seamlessly within the application. The all new app will enable a richer reading experience for poetry enthusiasts.
With the objective of promoting and disseminating Urdu literature, especially Urdu poetry to an audience beyond those conversant with the Urdu script, the content is available in Devanagri, Roman and Urdu script, thus majorly catering all segments of users.
