A fire broke out in a residential building on Khayaban-e-Badar, Phase IV, in Defence Housing Authority on Thursday.

Police said they had informed the electricity department about the incident.

Rainbow Centre fire

A fire broke out on the first floor of the Rainbow Centre in Saddar. One fire tender was rushed to the scene to douse the blaze, the Preedy police said.

The firefighters said that the fire broke out in a garbage dump. No loss of life was reported. A few days ago, panic had gripped the DHA area and its surroundings after a loud explosion was heard at a bakery in DHA Phase II within the limits of the Defence police station.

Police said the loud explosion caused injuries to two men and also damaged windowpanes of nearby buildings. Reacting to the information, police, firefighters, bomb disposal squad experts and rescue workers of different welfare associations reached the scene.
