TANK: Three cops and two outlaws were killed and four cops sustained injuries in a clash in Omar Adda here on Tuesday, sources said.
They said that acting on a tip-off, the police party headed by Station House Officer Alamgir raided the house of an outlaw Bakht Jamal in Omar Adda but the criminals opened fire on the police.
The police also returned the fire. Three cops and two outlaws were killed on the spot while four others sustained injuries in the clash. The slain cops were identified as head constables Adnan and Qayyum and constable Jehanzeb. The injured included SHO Alamgir, constables Rizwan, Naseer Ahmed and Muhammad Asghar.
The identity of the outlaws could not be ascertained. The injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tank where from two of them were referred to a hospital in Dera Ismail Khan due to their critical condition.
