LAHORE: South Asian Games medalist weightlifter Saima Shahzad’s youngest son also started weightlifting like her mother.Weightlifter Saima, who like other sportspersons is training at home with her 7-year-old son because of a health club shutdown due to the universal epidemic of Corona virus.
Saima won the bronze medal in the 55kg class at the South Asian Games in Nepal last year and she is also the national champion in her weight category. Weightlifting is in Saima blood as she is the daughter of former Olympian weightlifter Mohammad Manzoor.
When the fitness gym closed due to the Corona virus, Saima weight training equipment at home and when she started training at home, her started coaching her 7-year-old son Abir too. Let’s train. Saima says her son Abir is very interested in weightlifting and she will definitely make him an international weightlifter.
In a message the weightlifter mother and son stated people should not be afraid of Corona virus, but rather fight with it and stay home, focus on fitness and strengthening.
