PDMA provides more safety equipment to counter coronavirus

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has delivered additional consignments of safety equipment to the Health Department, district administrations and relevant departments to counter the coronavirus in the province.

According to details 6400 gloves, 6100 face masks, 1470 safety suits and 2,400 N95 masks were provided to the Health Department. Besides, 500 personal protective equipment and 3000 face masks were provided to Buner for quarantine centres. The PDMA chief said that 3000 face masks and personal protective equipment have been provided to district administration of Swabi and a 50 KV heavy generator was given to quarantine centre of Khyber district.

Apart from that 100 personal protective equipment were dispatched for Railways Hospital Peshawar. On special directives of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, PDMA immediately provided 500 beds with sheets and pillows, 350 hygiene kits, 5000 face masks,100 N-95, 500 quilts,300 blankets, chlorine with spray machines to district administration in DI Khan for the quarantine centres.

Total number of 1,70,000 different types of face masks, 770 litres sanitizers, 7000 personal protective equipment , 40,000 gloves, 1600 hygiene kits, 19000 surgical caps,7000 beds with sheets, 680 litres chlorine, 20 number of spray machines were sent to the district administrations for quarantine centres, Health and other relevant departments. The PDMA head added that more safety kits and equipment will be dispatched to relevant departments. The administrations of all districts were informed that relief goods already dispatched to districts in January could also be utilized in the quarantine centres. The PDMA warehouse is fully operational. Its provincial emergency operation centre is active round-the-clock and can be contacted on toll-free numbers 1700 & amp; 0800-01700.
