LAHORE:The Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has demanded the authorities devise a mechanism so that schoolteachers whose contracts have recently been extended for one year could continue getting salaries amid the partial lockdown. In a press release, PTU leaders, including Chaudhry Sarfraz and Rana Liaqat Ali, feared that over 6,000 schoolteachers across the province might face problem because of the requirement of computer change at the district accounts offices for which the teachers could not visit the offices personally. The PTU demanded the authorities ensure that the record was updated at the accounts offices by the staff so that these teachers could continue receiving salaries without any hindrance.
