Islamabad : The Department of Mass Communication Allama Iqbal Open University will conduct a comprehensive research study on the dynamic journalistic role of eminent media professional and historic trend setter Mir Jamil-ur-Rehman.
This was stated by Prof. Dr. Saqib Riaz Chairman Department of Mass Communication Allama Iqbal Open University in a statement. He said that Mir Jamil-ur-Rehman was a great journalist, media expert and media manager and he achieved heights of perfection and excellence because of his unique ideas and spirit to implement those ideas.
He said that his institution intends to document the contribution of Mir Jamil-ur-Rehman in introducing new trends in the field of magazine journalism in Pakistan and for this purpose a comprehensive research study will be conducted at the Mass Communication Department of Allama Iqbal Open University.
Dr. Saqib Riaz stated that the purpose of this research project will be to pay tribute to the great hero of Print Journalism Mir-Jamil-ur-Rehman and to document his unique contribution for the uplift of magazine journalism in Pakistan for future generations.
He further informed that his Department has produced a huge number of graduates who are serving different media organizations not only in Pakistan but also across the Globe.
He informed that so far more than 200 research studies have been conducted at AIOU to investigate and explore media effects on Pakistani society.
