Bakeries to remain shut
The Commissioner Office cancelled an earlier order of allowing bakeries to operate between 8am and 5am through a corrigendum.
The city administration ordered on Saturday that all the bakeries would stay closed during the lockdown till April 14. The corrigendum says that “all bakeries and e-commerce activities related to essential items shall remain closed during the lockdown period, therefore, till April 14, 2020.” In his earlier order on Friday, Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani had directed all the supermarkets and superstores to strictly follow the social distancing guidelines. “No joyriding is allowed, and anyone coming out of their house must have a valid reason,” the order read. The order further allowed home deliveries and takeaways of any sort.
