RUGBY: Councillor Dr James Shera, former mayor of Rugby, has expressed his deep sorrow and grief at the demise of Mir Javed Rahman, Chairman and Publisher of the Jang Group.
Dr Shera, in a statement, said: “This is a sad loss for journalism in Pakistan. Mir Javed Rahman, always stood for honesty and integrity in journalism. He inherited the honourable tradition of pursuit of truth at any cost, from his father, Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman. Our condolences and sympathies are with the bereaved family members, at this difficult hour.” The statement was endorsed by the UK Pakistani Christian leaders including Dr Peter David, Dr Noshaba Khiljee, Councillor Morris Johns, Advocate Qamar Shams, former MPA Saleem Khokar, Reverend John Bosco, and Michael Massey.
