Power supply restored
MULTAN: The power supply to 35 out of 79 Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) feeders was restored as the feeders were affected due to heavy rain and thunderstorm on Thursday night. According to Mepco spokesperson Jamshed Niazi, the power supply was suspended in Multan, Muzaffargarh, DG Khan, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Vehari areas. He said that distribution system was affected at various places due to heavy winds and added that operation staff was working as per the directions of Mepco CEO Tahir Mahmood. He said that electricity supply to the remaining affected feeders would also be restored soon.
YDA offers telemedicine to kids: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) of Children Complex has offered telemedicine facility for treating kids without visiting the hospital in the wake of COVID-19. The YDA has set up four lines of mobile phones for seeking consultation from 9am to 9pm for ailments related to kids’ health. People can call or send WhatsApp message at 03011176902, 03011176903 and 03011176904 for medicine department and 03011176905 for surgery dept consultation. In case of any complaint, they can contact at 03011176906, said a spokesperson for the Children Complex here on Friday. The step had been taken to urge the people not to visit the health facility due to coronavirus issue, he concluded.
