SUKKUR: After the imposition of 15-day lockdown in Sindh to prevent spreading of coronavirus, the cities, including Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Nuashahro Feroze and others, on Monday gave a deserted look and an eerie silence engulfed localities .

The notification issued by the Sindh government said that a ban was imposed on unnecessary movement and gathering of the people all over the places, including offices, malls, restaurants, and public parks, while those offering essential services were given special permission. Restaurants, bakers, milk shops and medical stores across the province would be allowed to offer home deliveries and take away services.

In this regard, heavy contingents of police and Rangers were deployed across the province, and it was reported that the police and Rangers personnel have punished some of the violators since the law was enforced.

Meanwhile, DIGP Sukkur Fida Hussain Mastoi and Sector Commander Sindh Rangers Sukkur Sajjid Hussain have reviewed the lockdown, and appealed to the people not to violate it and they should maintain the law that would protect them from the risk of coronavirus.
