LAHORE
The Kissan Board Pakistan has rejected the relief package announced by the prime minister for farmers saying it is not aimed at the betterment of agriculture sector.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Arsalan Khakwani, Chairman Kissan Raj Movement launched by the KBP, said his organisation would go ahead with its sit-in protest. There is nothing concrete in the package and we will go to Islamabad to lodge our protest on October 8, he added.
He said the government failed to take steps for stabilising the support price of various crops while the flat rate for agri-tubewell was still a distant dream. He said the relief package was developed to give benefit to traders and businessmen.
