Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayyat Gondal has ordered stepping up of ongoing anti-dengue campaign in the province saying that strict implementation of instructions regarding dengue control be ensured as no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the measures being taken to eradicate dengue, at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. CM Adviser on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique, Additional Chief Secretary Syed Mubashir Raza, secretaries of different departments and officers concerned attended the meeting.
Khizar Gondal said the anti-dengue day would be observed in Rawalpindi on September 19. He lauded the performance of departments regarding dengue control, but directed them to remain alert. He said the awareness regarding dengue should be enhanced as people's cooperation was of significant importance in efforts to control dengue. He added that all the departments should play an active role in this regard. He said that to fulfil the responsibilities assigned to overcome dengue, heads of departments should review performance regularly and conduct field visits.
Later, the chief secretary chaired a meeting of Commissioners regarding the Kissan Package through video link. He directed the commissioners to complete the survey of rice and cotton crops as early as possible. He maintained that the Kissan Package would go a long way for the betterment of agriculture sector and resolving problems of farmers.
