Aga Khan Board in lead role unacceptable: Wafaqul Madaris
ISLAMABAD: Wafaqul Madaris leaders have rejected giving leading role to Aga Khan Board among all educational boards of the government. In a statement, they termed the issuance of a notification by the Ministry of Education and Professional Training the beginning of completion of the agenda of NGOs [non-governmental organisations] and the liberal mafia, which was not acceptable to them at all. Wafaqul Madaris leaders Dr Abdur Razaq Sikandar, Maulana Anwarul Haq, Maulana Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhry, and other called upon the federal government to shun double standards. “On the one hand, reluctance is being shown in accepting deeni madaris boards [religious education boards] and on the other a private educational board, Aga Khan Board, was being given special status by making it head of all public sector educational institutions boards.
The have demanded withdrawal of the notification, which was creating doubts among religious forces about intentions of the government.
