KARACHI: A sparkling performance by Ahmed Baig brought him on top of the scoreboard at the end of the second day in the 39th CAS Open Golf Championship at Airmen Golf Club, PAF Korangi Creek in Karachi, says a press release.
Thanks to seven outstanding birdies, Ahmed finished the day at five under par to take his score to 137 (seven under par). Muhammad Munir dropped down to second spot with a gross score of 140. Muhammad Alam is at third position with 142. Defending champion Muhammad Shabbir (143) maintained his fourth position.
Meanwhile in the junior professionals’ category, Muhammad Insaf won the title with a gross score of 150 (6 over par). The second position was shared by Muhammad Saqib and Faizan Ali on 155 each. That left Bilal Khan (158) in third position.
Leading golfers from all over the country, including five ladies, are participating in the biggest event of the Pakistan golf calendar.
