The Corruption Perceptions Index 2019 shows that perceived levels of corruption in Pakistan have actually increased over the last year. It is evident the PTI led coalition government, despite its tall claims to combat corruption, has failed to root out entrenched corruption.
As long as self-centred bureaucrats and technocrats are placed in power and authority positions, corruption will remain an intractable problem for the country.
