Two friends shot dead over enmity

FAISALABAD: Two friends were gunned down over enmity near Khurrianwala Bypass on Wednesday.
Fauji Rashid Ahmad and Amanat Ali, residents of Chak 99/RB, Jandiala, were on way home after performing their duty in a factory on bicycles when Jameel Awan and others shot them dead and escaped from the spot. The motive behind the double murder is stated the old enmity. Later, the relatives of Rashid and Amanat blocked the traffic for over two hours by placing the bodies on Khurrianwala Road to register their protest against the incident. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ali of Chak 216/RB, Muhammadwala, allegedly murdered his sister Nasreen over a domestic issue.
Two accused killed in ‘encounter’

FAISALABAD: Two accused were killed in an alleged police encounter in limits of Garah police.
Investigation in-charge Muhammad Bashir with other police officials was shifting Hassan Askari of Sahiwal and Safdar Rasool to Samundri in an official vehicle. When the vehicle touched outskirts of Garah police station, some armed persons riding in a car tried to get the accused released from the police custody. The police also retaliated. As a result, Hassan Askari and Safdar Rasool were killed. The police chased the fleeing culprits, but could not nab them.
