MANSEHRA: The nanbais here on Monday went on strike for an indefinite period as they demanded the supply of wheat flour at subsidised rate.
The shops of the nanbais remained closed across city and its suburbs the entire day. Sardar Zaheer, the president of Nanbais Association in Hazara, said that wheat flour prices had increased to a level where they couldn’t manage financial affairs of their businesses.
“We don’t want to put an extra financial burden on people and that is why we are demanding wheat flour at subsidised rate,” he said. He said that gas and electricity tariffs were also increased which added to their woes. “We are ready to end our strike if our demands are met,” added Sardar Zaheer.
