KMDC annual sports festival inauguration today
KARACHI: The annual sports festival of the Karachi Medical & Dental College (KMDC) will be inaugurated with a colourful ceremony at their campus, located in North Nazimabad, on Tuesday (today).
According to the information shared by KMDC officials here on Monday, Olympian Islahuddin Siddiqui, the World Cup-winning Pakistan hockey captain, will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony due to commence at 11am.
Besides the students, the event will be attended by faculty members as well as parents. The heads of various other medical institutions have also been invited for the inauguration ceremony.
This year’s sports festival will be spread over five days with the closing ceremony scheduled to be held on January 25. The KMDC students will be in action in 13 disciplines, including cricket, football, throwball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, snooker, futsal and wrestling. The KMDC, founded in 1991, happens to be Pakistan’s first medical and dental college established, managed and administered by a municipal corporation. Acclaimed as one of the most prestigious and highly-esteemed medical and dental institutions of the country, it enrolls around 250 medical and 100 dental students every year.
