LAHORE: Shopkeepers of Islampura on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against the Islampura police for allegedly registering a fake case to save the skin of accused Dolphin officials.
Two robbers had come to the paan shop of Abdul Waheed and started looting the customers besides holding the shopkeeper hostage at gunpoint. Abdul Waheed offered resistance, upon which, the robbers managed to escape, leaving their weapons and a bike on the spot. According to police, the shopkeeper almost got mad and started firing in the air. He pointed his gun at the Dolphin officials who in self-defence wounded him after several warnings. However, the fact was that the Dolphin officials presumed the shopkeeper to be a robber and opened fire. It is learnt that one of the two robbers were shot at and wounded on their way back by a security guard. Police teams are checking the government and private hospitals and clinics to nab him but to no avail.
