An alleged bandit was killed in a police encounter in the Korangi Industrial area on Monday.
Two gunmen were looting a motorist when a patrolling police van reached the scene. As the robbers opened fire,
the policeman retaliated and a gunman was killed during the encounter while the other fled.
The police seized a TT pistol and a stolen motorcycle at the spot. The body of the deceased was taken to the JPMC for autopsy.
Murder
A teenaged tailor was murdered by his master in the Preedy Police limits on Monday.
Muhammad Farhan, 16, was thrown off the rooftop of the Habib Tower Shopping Centre by his boss, Faraz. According the police, Faraz owned a shop in the shopping centre which is situated in Saddar area. Last night, Faraz and his four friends were having liquor when the deceased asked his payments from his boss.
The accused and his friends threw him off the roof.
The police reached the spot and shifted his body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.
Later, the police arrested all the accused and registered a case.
Six die in road crashes
Six people, including a traffic constable, were killed in road crashes on Monday.
Tauseef Jamal, 24, died after he was struck by a vehicle near the Jauhar Mor situated in the Shahra-e-Faisal police limits, while he was going on a motorcycle. Muhammad Ramzan, 35, was killed after a vehicle ran him over near the Gutter Baghicha situated in the Pak Colony police area, while he was riding a motorcycle.
Muhammad Usman, 35, died in a road crash in the Maripur police jurisdictions, while he was going on a motorcycle.
Rasheed, 80, died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle at the National Highway in the Quidabad police area.
An unidentified was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle near Drig Road in the Shahra-e-Faisal police jurisdictions. Constable Shahid Amjed, 35, was returning back to his home on a motorcycle when a vehicle ran him over in the SITE-A police limits. According to the police, the deceased was posted in the Saeedabad Traffic Centre.
