Member National Assembly Hamza Shehbaz has said that adulteration in eatable items is intolerable and the Punjab government is taking steps on a war-footing in this regard.
Talking to a delegation of the Gowala Association, he said the protection of health of citizens was the top priority of the government and no compromise would be made on it. He said that implementation of prevailing laws would be ensured by government institutions and action would be taken against those preparing adulterated food items.
BISP Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson MNA Marvi Memon stressed the need for promoting vocational training and harnessing the industry linkage for creating employment opportunities. Addressing a meeting at Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) on Friday, she lauded the efforts of Tevta for offering demand driven short courses to train the youth in employable trades across Punjab. Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh, BISP Secretary Saleem Ranjha, Director Punjab BISP Sara Saeed, Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and other top management were also present.
Marvi Memon further said the priority of the prime miinister was to look after the poor across the country. She added the BISP was providing stipend Rs 1500 to help out the needy.
