LAHORE : A labourer died after he accidentally got trapped in a concrete mixer in the Kahna area on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Yousaf. The body was removed to morgue.
certificates: The Character Certificate Branch of Lahore police issued 48,615 certificates to the citizens.
As many as 39,181 character certificates and 9,434 verification certificates were issued to the citizens last year.
As many as 8,520 character certificate forms were submitted by the citizens at Khidmat centre of DIG Operations office, 17,182 at facilitation centre of Gulberg, 5,208 at Iqbal Town, 1,106 at Hall Road, 455 at Bhatti Gate, 216 at Mobile Police Khidmat Markaz, 1,854 at Greater Iqbal Park, 2,788 at Town Hall and 1,852 applications were submitted at the facilitation centre at Arfa Karim Tower. As many as 1265 forms of general verification were submitted by the citizens at Khidmat centre of DIG Operations office, 3,886 at the facilitation centre of Gulberg, 1,723 at Iqbal Town, 478 at Hall Road, 275 at Bhatti Gate, 206 at Mobile Police Khidmat Markaz and 1,601 at Greater Iqbal Park.
CCPO: CCPO Lahore Zulfiqar Hameed has expressed his displeasure to the officers of Model Town division over delay in tracing cases and sending challans in courts.
He chaired a meeting of Model Town Investigation Wing to review the status of pending cases.
The CCPO said the increase in pending cases and slow ratio of challan submission was worrying.
He directed the police officers to take action against firing, kite flying and the violators of Marriage Act without any discrimination. The CCP directed the officers to take action against the beggar mafia.
SSP Investigation Zeeshan Asghar, SPs and SDPOs were also present in the meeting.
open court: DIG Operations Lahore Rai Babar Saeed along with DIG Investigation Inaam Waheed held an open court for Raiwind Circle at Raiwind City police station on Saturday and listened to the grievances of the citizens.
Sadr SP Syed Ghazanfar Ali, Raiwind Circle ASP Muhammad Tanveer Raza, SHOs and other police officers were also present. A huge number of citizens came to the open court. The complainants raised various issues on which both DIGs directed the police officers concerned to address their grievances.
Both DIGs said the problems of the citizens must be solved at the police station level on a priority basis, however, doors of their offices were open to the public round the clock open.
