Illegal structures demolished, sealed
LAHORE :Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has launched a massive operation against illegal constructions in private housing societies in the provincial metropolis here Friday.
The operation was carried out on the directions of LDA Director General Sumair Ahmad Syed. He said that he would personally supervise the operation and no negligence would be accepted.
The constructions which were demolished included: an illegal structure at ground floor near Raiwind bypass adjacent to a bakery, a marque/shed along Raiwind Road at ground floor adjacent to Government Degree College, a hall at ground floor near a factory, a structure at ground floor opposite to a paint factory on Raiwind Road, an old construction functional in the name of Popular Pipes was sealed following the complaint received in LDA.
Besides, the LDA team demolished a marriage hall at ground floor, adjacent to Icon Valley Phase II, a structure at ground floor of a shop adjacent to a pharmacy at Adda Plot, sealed Rahber Pharmacy located at Adda Plot, Raiwind Road on a complaint received in this office.
Illegally constructed shops at ground floor (addition alteration) adjacent to a hotel near Hudiara Drain, Raiwind Road, were demolished.
An illegal office type construction was demolished at Plot No 759 Block B, PCSIR Phase-II, an illegal addition alteration in the already constructed building at Plot No 304, Iqbal Avenue was partially demolished.
The operation was stopped when the owner submitted undertaking. Front shutters at Plot No 325-326 Iqbal Avenue were demolished. A foundation with pillars was approved but owner had erected pillars for ground floor at Plot No 49, Lahore Avenue, prior to approval which had been partially demolished.
MoU: University of Baltistan, Skardu and University of Home Economics (UHE) signed a memorandum of understanding for academic collaboration and student exchange.
The MoU was signed during a visit of a 90-member delegation of University of Baltistan to UHE. UHE Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen and University of Baltistan VC Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, who led the delegates, signed the MoU.
