CCPO Lahore Capt. (Retd) Muhammad Amin Wains has said that since the launch of the project of admin officers four months ago, 12,000 applications have been received by the admin officers out of which only 27 applications are pending for inquiry. He said that in these applications, different persons had been nominated for registration of cases against them under serious offences. He said the admin officers had proved through their performance that they were infused with a spirit of public service and its proof was a citizen Jahanzab who went to the police station Gulberg and was so impressed with the behaviour of the police that he came to the CCPO office with flowers to express his gratitude. He said if the staff of all the police stations displayed the same attitude then criminal elements would find no place to hide. The CCPO said it was only through giving respect that you got respect in return.
He said the police had to show respect to citizens coming to police station and take personal interest in resolving their problems. He said the beat officers had been provided android phones and modern technology for maintaining law and order. H e added the admin officers would have to work as master trainers for imparting training to beat officers and constables by the use of modern technology.
He gave the said remarks while presiding over a meeting at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh for reviewing the efficiency of admin officers. DIG Investigation Sultan Chaudhry, DIG Operations Dr. Haider Ashraf, SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk and various divisional SPs were present.
The CCPO said the purpose of the beat system was to provide justice to the people at their doorsteps and promote a sense of protection among citizens. He said the beat officers performing their duty with commitment and efficiency would be encouraged at every level while those showing negligence would find no room in the department.
