LAHORE:Locals of Rasoolpura staged a protest demonstration against the Nawab Town police's alleged extortion from citizens on Saturday.

The protesters accused the two officials, Rashid and Sajid, of harassing the citizens only to mint money from them. The protesters blocked the traffic, chanted slogans against the Nawab Town police and burnt tyres.

They demanded of the police authorities to take action against the two officials allegedly involved in harassing the citizens.

PSCA: A 12-member delegation of students and faculties of Pakistan Navy Engineering College, Karachi, visited Punjab Police Integrated Command Control and Communication Centre (PPIC3) – the premier security project of Punjab Safe Cities Authority.

The delegates were shown round various arms and functions of the project dealing in operations, Police Dispatch Unit, Video Control Unit, Media Monitoring Unit and the PSCA insignia Cam-Surveillance Operations Management Centre.

The delegation showed keen interest in the state-of-the-art ICT project. "PSCA is a conflation of engineering and modern policing," they said. "Such an advanced and centralised security mechanism to optimise metropolitan security is plausible,” they added.

PSCA’s premier project PPIC3 is a consolidated hub of integrated policing regulating swift emergency and police responses.

CCPO: The capital city police officer held an open court at his office here on Saturday.

DIG Investigation Lahore Dr Inam Waheed, DIG Operations Lahore Rai Babar Saeed and other officers were also present on the occasion. The CCPO listened to the complaints and issued directions to the officers in this regard.
