City School bag tennis crown
ISLAMABAD: City School scooped up the first Inter-School Tennis Tournament beating Siddique Public School 3-0 in the finals played at the Shalimar Club courts.
Raja Muhammad Farzam got better of Saad Rizwan 6-2, 6-2 while in the second singles Raja Muhammad Yahya beat Talha Rizwan 6-4, 7-5.
In the doubles event, Farzam & Yahya edged out Saad & Talha 7-5, 7-5 to give City School 3-0 win.
It was for the first time that inter-city school tennis was held in Rawalpindi.
Rashid Malik, former Davis Cup captain, who is now secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) was the chief guest and gave away prizes to the participants.
While speaking on the occasion, he said he was glad that the school tournament was conducted in Rawalpindi for the very first time.
Rashid promised to support kids and provide them with all the necessary equipment required.
Tournament Director Inamul Haq thanked PLTA and chief guest who came all the way from Lahore for prize distribution ceremony.
