Legislation on COAS tenure should be unanimous: Shahid

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that legislation pertaining to the tenure of the Army Chief should be undertaken with consensus and the government should talk to the opposition for this purpose. He expressed the hope that the opposition will take united position in the matter since it’s too a sensitive subject.
“Such things cannot be left to this government”. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who is confined in Adyala Jail by the NAB in a disputed case was talking to The News in Parliament House on Monday evening before returning to jail by an armoured personnel carrier (APC). Shahid Abbasi was in high spirit despite his health is deteriorating.
