Overloaded vehicles endanger lives
LALAMUSA: Locals, especially students have no option but to travel in overloaded vans and auto-rickshaws in several areas of Lalamusa.
Reportedly, transport and rickshaw owners carry passengers more than their permitted capacity endangering the lives of their passengers.
They take students to their schools and bring them back to their homes in overloaded vehicles. Often students are seen travelling on the roofs of such vans in the cold weather on the GT Road.
The locals urged the higher authorities concerned to look into the matter.
104 CCTV cameras installed: Gujrat Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Khurram Shahzad Friday said some 104 CCTV cameras have been installed at different markets for security purposes.
The Deputy Commissioner stated this during his visit to Lalamusa. He said security issues would be handled with the help of the CCTV cameras. Later, the DC visited Kharian.
