PMDC workers not restored despite court orders
Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical Commission administration on Friday refused to allow the sacked employees of the dissolved Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to resume duty despite the orders of the Balochistan High Court.
The PMDC employees went to the PMC premises here in the morning to resume charge of their respective offices in line with the recent orders of a BHC divisional bench for the government to restore all PMDC employees and pay their dues without delay.
However, they're denied access to the building.
However, the PMC administration asked them to send in three representatives, who met a senior staff member, inform him about the court orders about their restoration, and handed over a copy of those orders.
The staff member said the PMC would formally inform the national health services ministry, which oversaw it, about the matter for instructions.
He said the commission would follow whatever instructions the ministry issued. The PMDC employees returned frustrated at the denial of service restoration and warned that such conduct could lead to contempt proceedings by the court against the relevant officials.
There is no official word from the ministry on the delay in the implementation of the high court's orders.
