IG seeks performance reports from officers

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Shoaib Dastagir sought a report from all RPOs and DPOs on the actions of police teams against professional criminals and anti-social elements in society and also directed them to speed up intelligence-based operations. In his report, Lodhran DPO Malik Jameel Zafar said police teams of Lodhran district were engaged day and night in maintaining law and order. He said police were committed to improving public service delivery. In the last one and a half months, 706 cases were registered and 689 accused were sent to jail after submitting challan of 400 cases.

He said loot worth Rs5.6million, including motorcycle, cattle and household items, were recovered and handed over to their owners. As many as 398 proclaimed offenders were arrested. Among them, 18 were of A category and 380 were of B category.

Moreover, 50 cases were registered in illegal arms cases. Three illegal Kalashnikovs, four rifles, two guns, 38 pistols and one were seized. In addition to that, 90 narcotics cases were registered and 60 kilo opium, 43.5 kilo chars, 2,208 bottles of liquor and 110 gram heroin were seized. Members of 27 gangs of criminals were arrested.
