26 clinics run by quacks sealed

LAHORE :The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department continued its action against the quacks across Punjab.

On Thursday, the anti-quackery cell of the department sealed 26 businesses of quacks. Health Secretary Captain (r) Muhammad Usman said that more than two dozen fake clinics were shut down in 13 districts of Punjab, including Lahore, Pakpattan, Sargodha, Attock, Okara, Bhakkar, Gujranwala, Chinniot, Gujarat, Layyah, Lodhran, Sahiwal and Nankana Sahib.

Muhammad Usman said that the authority visited 236 clinics and fined 28 clinics in a daylong operation. Meanwhile, 42 cases were sent to Punjab Healthcare Commission for the completion of their registration. The secretary said that they had received 37 complaints and resolved 13 of them by taking timely action. He said that they were taking strict action against fake clinics being run by unqualified people.
