PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial President Aimal Wali Khan on Tuesday said that his party would soon announce a date for staging a march to Waziristan to spread the message of peace.

In a statement, he said that Pashtuns had been facing humiliation for the last 40 years. He added that thousands of Pashtuns were massacred in the name of Islam.“Thousands of Pashtuns are still missing while their loved ones continue to appeal for their safe recovery,” Aimal Wali alleging, adding there is no rule of law in the country.

He said that thousands of displaced Pashtuns were forced to live in the camps. “Those who could not see Pashtuns prosper are responsible for the prevailing situation. Pashtuns are being targeted due to their disunity,” he pointed out.Aimal Wali said that Pashtuns do not need any certificate from anyone about their patriotism, adding, all the ethnic groups in the country had equal rights.

The ANP provincial head announced that his party would also organise protest rallies against the regulations about the natural resources of the merged tribal districts. “We would not allow usurpation of the resources of the merged districts,” he maintained. He criticised the PTI government for failing to hold local government election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The government reluctance to hold local government election showed that it doesn’t have the support of the selectors, he added.
