‘Robbers’ killDolphin Squad official

LAHORE:A Dolphin Squad official was martyred by two unidentified persons in the limits of Baghbanpura police on Sunday.

As per police, Dolphin team No 362 comprising four officials signaled two bike riders to stop for checking near Mehmood Booti, Baghbanpura. The bike riders opened firing and escaped after leaving their bike behind the scene. The firing caused serious wounds to a cop, Mohsan. The three remaining officials could not compete with the assailants who raced into the streets. The injured cop was shifted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Police cordoned off the Mehmood Booti area and started looking for the two who easily dodged them and disappeared in the streets. Police were also taking help from CCTV cameras to trace the culprits. They claimed that the bike riders were robbers.

The CCPO has directed the DIG Operations Lahore to submit a report in this regard besides constituting raiding teams to arrest the culprits. The IG Punjab directed the CCPO Lahore to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
