KARACHI: Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Muscat K K Ahsan Wagan on Friday pledged to promote direct trade between Pakistan and Oman, as currently most of the Pakistani products were landing in the Arab country’s market via Dubai.
“Trade and commercial relations remain very close to my heart therefore, I will try my best to fully facilitate business-to-business interaction between Pakistani and Muscati business communities,” said the envoy during his visit to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
Wagan said economic diplomacy was very crucial because it had its effects on the society, community, and people of the country. “If exports rise, these in turn will bring foreign exchange, generate massive number of employment opportunities and ultimately reduce poverty in the country,” said the ambassador-designate.
While assuring full support to businessmen, keen to enhance trade ties with their counterparts in Muscat, Wagan said they would be fully assisted in all their initiatives towards improving trade ties with their counterparts in the Oman’s capital.
