PESHAWAR: The Haripur police have launched the e-challan system for bringing transparency through modern gadgets in the challan system of traffic, an official said on Thursday.
District Police Officer Zahidullah Jan told reporters that all the 22 ticketing officers have been issued mobile sets and the printers for on spot issuance of e-challans to the violators of traffic rules in the district.
He said the TOIs were trained properly by the IT experts of the Police Department before issuing them mobile sets and printers.
To a question, the DPO hoped the e-challan system would not only bring about transparency but also save the time of drivers and owners committing traffic rules violations.
He added that the driver for making the bike riders wear a helmet had yielded results which could be gauged from the declining ratio of fatal road accidents during the last one month.
