ISLAMABAD: A gang of armed robbers looted a top police officer of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) here on Sunday night, police sources said on Monday.

Shalimar police have registered First Information Report (FIR) on the complaint of the serving police officer of KP under section 392/34 PPC and initiated investigation.

The robbed police officer said in his complaint (FIR No 399/19) that he reached Islamabad with his family on his car bearing registration number ALI-731 and visited different markets on Sunday night, adding that he later left for E-11 with his wife and minors. “As I reached near F-10/3 at Margalla Road, a white Corolla displaying revolving blue light on its top overtook my car and driver signaled me to stop the car,” the officer said and added that they asked him to show documents of the car introducing themselves as personnel of CIA. “As I opened the dashboard to take out documents, one of them whipped out his gun and asked to hand over gold ornaments of my wife.”

Meanwhile, he took out his 9mm pistol from the pocket of driving side door but the robber aimed his gun at his wife and kids and warned to surrender 9mm pistol before them otherwise they would shoot his family. “Feeling the sensibility of the situation, I had no option but to surrender and handover gold ornaments to them,” the officer said and added that they snatched key of his car and threw away at some distance and sped away towards Golra Sharif.

Though the police have registered FIR but trying to hush up the case, however, the police bosses ordered to trace the suspect and ensure whether the robbers were actually personnel of CIA or they were in the guise of police persons. The police sources said the victim officer was serving SP (Investigation) of Bannu police.
