During their targeted operations, soldiers of the Sindh Rangers have arrested an extortionist and 13 other suspects for their involvement in armed robberies and other criminal activities, claimed the spokesman for the paramilitary force on Sunday.
The Rangers spokesman said the soldiers conducted an intelligence-based raid in the Korangi locality and after some resistance, arrested a suspect named Abdul Rehman for his involvement in a number of extortion cases.
The paramilitary force also carried out raids in the Korangi, Jackson, Malir, Sharea Faisal, Brigade, Jamshed Quarters and Baloch Colony localities, from where they arrested 13 suspects.
The detainees were later identified as Arsalan, Sher Ahmed, Arif Khan, Siraj Munir, Saeed Muhammad, Shahzeb, Aqib Ali, Ayaz Ali, Babar Ali, Muhammad Naseem, Hashim Ali, Muhammad Salman and Muhammad Asif Maqsood.
The spokesman claimed that the suspects were involved in a number of cases of armed robbery, snatching, possession of illegal weapons, drug peddling and other crimes. The soldiers also confiscated weapons, looted items and drugs from all the 14 suspects and later handed over the confiscated items and the suspects to the police for taking further action.
