Traditional, modern art discussed
Islamabad :The Department of Art and Design, COMSATS University, Islamabad, held a series of academic lectures and talks on ‘Traditional Art vs Modern Art; Reciprocity and Dichotomy’.
The lectures and talks were delivered by well-known international and national artists, architects and designers. The sessions brought together the diverse thinking of various artists, designers and architects in the month.
The speakers included Ustad Aqeel Solangi on the fresco painting of Pakistan, the lecture concluded with a lively discussion with the students.
The second lecture was given by Dr. Vicky Clark, an American curator and art historian. Dr Clark talked about the art of the non-white artists and the feminist concerns in the American art scene.
The third lecture was given by prominent Islamabad architects; Suhail Abbasi and Fawad Abbasi.
