Rivals bury the hatchet

TAKHT BHAI: A jirga led by former MNA and district nazim Mardan Himayatullah Mayar made untiring efforts to bring an end to a blood feud between two rival groups. According to details, the family of Mautabar Shah had a blood feud with the family of one Siraj Khan. They vowed at a jirga to bury the hatchet and end their differences for good. It became possible after Himayatullah Mayar led a jirga that made efforts to bring about reconciliation between the two sides.
The other members of the jirga included Malik Aman Khan, Sabz Ali Khan, Abdul Nabi, Rabnawaz Khan, Mohammad Nazir Khan Mohmand, Dr Bashir Ahmad and others. Himayatullah Mayar, Sultan Mohammad Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami and Sheikul Hadith Maulana Mustafa spoke on the occasion.
