PPP activists protest denial of medical facilities to Asif Ali Zardari
PESHAWAR: The activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday staged protest against the government for not allowing medical facilities to former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur. Led by the former MPA Dr Faiza Rashid, the activists, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands, gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club and chanted slogans against the biased attitude of the government. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Faiza Rashid criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for victimising its political opponents only to hide its inefficiency and irregularities.
She, however, said that the sitting selected and now rejected PTI rulers would not succeed to pressure the PPP leaders and its workers. They, she said, would also not succeed in removing the love for PPP from the hearts of the poor people, who were always ready to render sacrifices for the party and its leadership. Dr Faiza Rashid asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to release forthwith Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur and all the arrested opposition leaders on medical ground.
