Govt did not obstruct Nawaz’s visit abroad: Sarwar

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said Nawaz Sharif has gone abroad after getting permission from court and the government did not make any obstruction in this regard.

He said now the opposition should also do politics in accordance with national interests in and out of the parliament. The opposition should point out lacunas and the government will address those accordingly

Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Asad Umar said the government had not given NRO to Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for medical treatment. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had fully implemented the Lahore High Court’s verdict, he said talking to a private news channel. He said the court had allowed the former prime minister to go abroad for availing medical facility on humanitarian grounds.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said Prime Minister Imran Khan with his deeds has set new examples of human compassion and supremacy of law. In a tweet, she prayed for the early recovery of Nawaz Sharif so that he could return home and face cases in the courts of law.

Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said Nawaz Sharif’s travelling to London via Doha has raised many questions. The former prime minister, who was facing jail on corruption charges, would not return to Pakistan, he stated while talking to a private news channel.

Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) being an independent institution had registered corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif. No corruption scandal has surfaced during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s ongoing tenure and it would complete its constitutional term, he said talking to a private news channel.

Leader of the House in the Senate Shibli Faraz said Prime Minister Imran Khan always prefers to take medical treatment at the Shaukat Khanum hospital while Nawaz Sharif usually wants to go abroad for this cause.

Talking to a private news channel, he said Nawaz had not constructed a single standard hospital in the country where he could get best medical treatment and alleged that the former prime minister had only focused on doing corruption by looting the national exchequer during his governments.
