Floral art contest
LAHORE:The seventh annual interuniversity floral art competition was held at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) here on Tuesday.
LCWU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mirza inaugurated the floral art competition and exhibition which was followed by a three-day floral arrangement workshop. Prof Dr Bushra Mirza said the new concept and ideas of beautification were being introduced in the competition which was commendable. She added that such competitions and exhibitions should not be limited only to the university level but through such events the citizens should be educated on the importance of environment and green character. The event organised by LCWU Botany Department featured more than 50 flowering plants.
Hailey College: Punjab University’s Hailey College of Commerce (HCC) organised a ceremony to welcome newly-admitted students of BCom (Hons), MCom, M.hil and PhD.
In his address, Dr Hassan Mobeen Alam described the history of the college and said HCC had been serving the country since last ninety years and produced a number of talented graduates. He advised the students to work hard with honesty to earn fame for themselves, country and the institute as well. On this occasion, senior students of HCC also presented comedy show, tableaus and national songs.
Workshop: A two-day workshop on “Youth Enterprise Development” organised by the Business Incubation Centre (BIC) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) started here on Tuesday.
UVAS Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the inaugural session while Director Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) Dr Farhan Jamil, others and a number of participants were present. Dr Farhan Jamil spoke about the objectives of the workshop.
